Towering more than a quarter mile about the surrounding plateau, Pilot Mountain is the centerpiece of this 3,700-acre state park, which includes hiking trails, rock climbing areas and the opportunity to raft or canoe on the scenic Yadkin River. The park also offers tent and trailer campsites and the river gives anglers the chance to land catfish, crappie and sunfish. It is located in northwestern North Carolina, approximately 23 miles north of Winston-Salem.
